So I guess people thought that I was intentionally trying to make fun of the gender identity discussion or whatever, with the tweet where I said I had a yeast infection, and I absolutely wasn’t; it was funny as an afterthought though… I’m not that clever… for clarity, from what I’m reading, I guess it was a gender identity joke, but I was not making fun of gender dysphoria or non-binary gender… I just heard somebody whisper, “you’re bi.”
Anyway, something interesting, a couple of days ago, people were whispering “McDonald’s” more often than usual. People have whispered this in the past, but to allude to something different. This time around these whispers were more frequent than usual, but I didn’t understand why until I started paying attention to the more frequent than usual McDonald’s advertisement on Spotify. So, I’m not sure how accurate I am, but it looks like McDonalds revised one of their advertisements. This advertisement was a special meal for a musician and the meal specified a burger without pickles. However, the revised advertisement doesn’t specify the “without pickles” part. I must be on to something because I said “extra pickles please” aloud after a muster and I did get a reaction from people. So what do pickles symbolize to me? Well, this will demonstrate how massive of a network there is of people talking to get information to glass light me with. So, years ago, my high school girlfriend told me that I wasn’t Mexican because I liked pickles. Not that I really liked pickles or anything, but its not Iike I would removed them from my food. She didn’t like pickles, and told me that Mexicans didn’t like pickles, so I wasn’t Mexican or whatever… she was just making fun. So somehow, the people around me were told this from the network of people back home, so now this is what pickles now symbolize… that I’m not Mexican, I guess. And jalapeños and tomatoes also symbolize things that I’ll write about in future posts. By the way, have you ever tried deep fried pickles? They served deep fried pickles for one of my lunches when I was in quarantine, and they were really good. So if I’m understanding this correctly, after my blog post where I write about my mom’s bother Noey and write about discrimination, I guess McDonald’s decided to modify that advertisement because I haven’t heard the part of the ad where no pickles is specified, and today, since I started drafting this blog post yesterday, Spotify was playing McDonald’s advertisements, more often than usual, and this was a totally different advertisement.
